Analysis and Fault-Tolerant Control for Dual-Three-Phase PMSM Based on Virtual Healthy Model

Dual-three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines (DTP-PMSMs) are famous for their fault-tolerant capability. However, the complex modeling, high copper loss, and torque ripple under postfault operation limit further application. In this article, a control (FTC) strategy is developed DTP-PMSMs open-phase fault (OPF) with straightforward modeling smooth output torque. The virtual healthy DTP-PMSM model, where coordinate transformation, modulation strategy, controller structure remain unchanged OPF, adopted in proposed FTC scheme. And current references derived sinusoidal waves minimum loss. inaccurate transmission of signals OPF also focused on. Comprehensive theoretical analysis shows relationship between voltage actual stator should be considered strategy; otherwise, distortion will introduced. compensation utilized to compensate difference ensure output. Besides, quasi proportional resonance designed suppress residual ripple. not induce implementation heavy computation burden. simulation experimental results prove effectiveness strategy.
